Duo on target as Town loanees flourish

Strikers Ricky Miller (pictured above) and Lee Angol were both on target over the weekend as nine of the Town’s squad out on loan featured over the weekend.

Miller came on as a 67th-minute substitute to make his debut in Dover’s 4-1 win at AFC Telford in the Conference Premier on Saturday and scored three minutes from time. Solomon Taiwo was also involved, laying on the Whites’ first goal.

Meanwhile Angol struck his fifth goal of the season to help Boreham Wood to a 1-0 victory at Gosport in the Conference South.

Also on the winning side this weekend was right-back Brett Longden, who played 90 minutes in Maidenhead’s 2-1 win at Staines in the Conference South.

There was another 90 minutes for defender Danny Fitzsimons but he couldn’t prevent Bishop’s Stortford going down 3-2 at home to Basingstoke, also in Conference South.

Zane Banton and Ian Rees both started for Biggleswade in their Southern Premier game against St Neots, in which they helped the Waders to a 2-2 draw.

Winger Dave Martin played 90 minutes as Bristol Rovers went down 2-0 at Braintree in the Conference Premier, whilst Charlie Smith came on as a second half substitute in Hitchin’s 3-0 defeat at Truro.
