Smith scores on St Albans debut
Town midfielder Charlie Smith, pictured, had a debut to remember for St Albans City on Saturday when scoring the winning goal the Saints’ 1-0 Conference South win at Basingstoke. The first-year pro only joined City on-loan on Friday.Elsewhere, Hatters duo Matt Robinson and Dave Martin were on opposing sides as Kidderminster met Bristol Rovers in the Conference Premier. Robinson played the full 90, whilst Martin was subbed at the break in the game that ended 1-1.
Also in the Conference Premier, Andy Parry featured in AFC Telford’s 3-1 defeat at leaders Barnet, while midfielder Solomon Taiwo helped Dover beat Alfreton 3-2.
In the Conference South Danny Fitzsimons played 90 minutes in Bishop’s Stortford’s 1-1 draw against Eastbourne and Zane Banton got an hour for Hemel Hempstead in their 2-1 win at Sutton.
Mark Onyemah was involved in Thurrock’s defeat to Brightlingsea but the Fleet were beaten 3-1 in Ryman Division One North.
