Hatters youngsters in narrow defeat
The Town Under-18s were dumped out of the FA Youth Cup after a 2-1 defeat at Oxford City on Tuesday night. The Hatters fell behind against the run of play when a left-wing cross was turned home with a first-time shot.
Behind, the Town then spurned an opportunity to level when Isaac Galliford missed a penalty.
And that miss proved crucial as Oxford doubled their lead before half-time.
The young Hatters pushed forward in the second period and striker Daril Ngwala pulled one goal back with 10 minutes to go.
But despite their dominance in the closing stages the Town couldn't find an equaliser and Oxford celebrated a win that booked their place in the third round.
