Town Under-18s victorious once again
The Town Under-18s fought back from two goals down to triumph 4-3 against Cambridge United in the Youth Alliance to make it four wins on the spin and seven games unbeaten.
Paul Driver’s side trailed 2-0 inside five minutes before Akene Amadi pulled a goal back on the half-hour.
A two-goal blast in as many minutes from Isaac Galliford – the second from a fine free-kick from the edge of the penalty area – put the Hatters in front for the first time.
And although the U’s levelled the score on 75 minutes, the Town were not to be denied a winner when Tyreeq Bakinson, only on the pitch two minutes, hit the winner in the final minute.
Driver told lutontown.co.uk: “We attacked well but didn’t defend too well, as the 4-3 scoreline suggests. But the boys dug in, especially at 2-0 down because they could have easily given in.
“They kept going and naturally I’m pleased to get another victory.”
