Hatters led lead slip as Waders lift the trophy
The Town's hopes of an end-of-season double were dashed on Thursday night as Biggleswade Town fought back from a goal down to lift the Bedfordshire Senior Cup at Kenilworth Road. The Hatters looked on course for an eighth success in the competition at half-time following Alex Wall's header in first-half stoppage time following a fine right-wing cross from Ian Rees.
But the Southern Premier League visitors hit back after the break and deservedly triumphed thanks to goals from brothers Lee and Sam Reed.
Lee struck a fantastic equaliser on 66 minutes - striking an effort from 25 yards that went in off the post - before Sam poked home an effort from close range 11 minutes later.
The Town struggled to create a serious opening to force an equaliser in the closing stages and the Waders were left to celebrate a second successive Beds Senior Cup win.
