Hatters now know 22 of their 23 opponents next season

Cambridge United will join the Town back in the Football League after the U’s 2-1 win over Gateshead in the Promotion Final at Wembley on Sunday.

Goals from Will Hughes and former Tynesider Ryan Donaldson put Richard Money’s side 2-0 up before a late goal from veteran striker Jack Lester pulled a goal back for the Heed.

However, despite playing with 10 men for the final 10 minutes of injury time following an injury to Ian Miller, Cambridge held out to secure promotion to League 2 and end a nine-year absence.

The Town now know 22 of their 23 opponents for the 2014/15 campaign. The final club will be confirmed at the weekend with Burton and Fleetwood taking part in the League 2 Play-Off final.

Sides the Hatters will be facing next season:

Southend United
York City
Oxford United
Dagenham & Redbridge
Plymouth Argyle
Mansfield Town
Newport County
Accrington Stanley
Exeter City

The fixtures for next season are released on 18th June.
