Manager looking forward games against former club...and Portsmouth

There was only one team that John Still was looking out for when the fixtures were released this morning: the Town manager’s former club Dagenham & Redbridge.

The Hatters take on the Daggers on two Tuesday nights, with the home game at Kenilworth Road on 21st October and the trip to Victoria Road on 14th April.

“Was it the first game I looked out for? Of course it was,” Still told lutontown.co.uk. “They are my team and I still live around the corner from their ground.

“It’s a great club and I have a lot of good memories from my time there. I’ve got a loads of friends there still. There’s a lot of good people at Dagenham.

“However, it’s only one team and two matches. They are two games I’m looking forward to the most.”

Still was also keen to see when the Hatters take on arguably the biggest club in League 2 – Portsmouth.

The Hatters faithful have a Christmas holiday meeting with Pompey to look forward to on 28th December before the return trip to Fratton Park on 14th March.

“It’ll be two well-supported clubs locking horns and they are going to be two great games,” said Still. “The match over Christmas really is a match to really get excited about. The atmosphere is sure to be electric. After all Portsmouth and Luton are probably the best two supported clubs in the division.”
