Hatters youngsters finish with credit in Austria

Three of the Town’s Academy squads held their own against some of Europe’s top clubs in the Cordial Cup in Austria last weekend.

Teams containing a selection of Under 11, 13 and 15 players participated in this top quality event which sees teams from across the World assemble together to play the best sport in the world. Out of 48 clubs in each age division, the Town sides finished 13th, 16th and 22nd.

Staying in the town of Kirchberg, at the Alexander Hotel, this was the ideal location and setting for our players to prepare, rest and recover throughout the weekend.

The tour enabled our young players to experience a number of aspects throughout the journey, including the importance of preparation, game understanding, diet and nutrition, rest and sleep, as well as game performance against other top clubs and squads. The weekend provided great experiences and challenges for all.

In such tournaments all players are exposed and challenged whilst demonstrating their own individuality within the team. With the weather over 30 degrees, there was an additional challenge keeping hydrated throughout whilst playing in the heat, which the players performed well.
