Clocking up the miles following the Hatters

Hatters fans will clock up over 6,000 miles next season in the Sky Bet League 2.

The Town begin their campaign back in the Football League with their longest journey of the season, the 550-mile round-trip to Carlisle’s Brunton Park.

Supporters will certainly see plenty of tarmac in the opening months of the campaign with long trips to Accrington, Shrewsbury and York – on a Tuesday night – following soon after.

The Town will make the 456-mile round-trip to Hartlepool on 18th October and then face a journey south to Exeter – a 420-mile round-trip – two weeks later.

A trip to Plymouth takes place in January with the Hatters making the 506-mile round-trip to Home Park on 17th.

There are plenty of fixtures closer to Kenilworth Road, however. The Town’s shortest trip of the season at Stevenage – just 34 miles to Broadhall Way and back – takes place on 4th October.

Fellow promoted side Cambridge lie in wait at the Abbey Stadium on 20th September while the Town make the relatively short 80-mile round-trip to Wycombe Wanderers on Boxing Day.

The Hatters make the 35-mile journey up the M1 to Northampton on 28th March before their season on the road ends with what is sure to be a popular trip to Southend on 25th April.
