Hatters to take on Championship or League 1 opposition in first round of League Cup
The Town could kick-off their campaign back in the League Cup with a tie against Championship opposition when the draw for the Capital One Cup first round takes place live on Sky Sports News at 9.40am.John Still's side are one of 18 non-seeded clubs in the southern half of the draw who will face either one of 12 Championship clubs or six sides from League 1, who are seeded.
It means the Hatters could face Cardiff City, relegated from the Premier League last season. The Town could also tackle Birmingham City, Brighton & Hove Albion or Watford in the first round draw, which will be revealed at 10am on 17th June.
