Our countdown to the start of the season...64 days to go...
Of the Town’s 228 matches played during their time in the Football Conference, 64 have ended in draws.
The Hatters’ first game in the Conference began with a 1-1 draw at AFC Wimbledon on 8th August 2009. A Tom Craddock penalty fired the Town ahead before the Wombles levelled with a penalty of their own from Jon Main late in the second half. Mark Tyler and Jake Howells – both champions with the Town this season – were both involved in that game.
In 2010/11 and 2011/12 the Hatters drew 15 times in league competition, whilst in 2009/10 the Hatters drew 10 times. However, another two draws, both against Chester City, were expunged from the records following their liquidation that season.
The Hatters’ highest-scoring draw in the Conference was 3-3, which happened three times – all away from Kenilworth Road. The first came against Kidderminster at Aggborough in 2011, the second came at Southport in 2012, while the third and final 3-3 draw involving the Hatters in the Conference came this season at Aldershot in October.
