Training match ends in defeat for Town in the Algarve
The Hatters went down 2-0 in the heat of the Algarve against Portuguese second division side Farense in a training game on Thursday evening.
The Town fielded two different sides in each half, and it was a goal in each half that saw the Hatters defeated in a practise game at the Vila Real de Santo Sports Complex in Montegordo.
Farense, who finished 10th in the second tier of Portuguese football last term, proved challenging opposition and took the lead in the first half before adding a late penalty.
The Hatters competed well and had a Scott Griffiths goal from a corner disallowed.
The Town return to training on Friday before arriving back in the UK on Monday. The first friendly for the first team is due to take place next Thursday at Hitchin.
