Last season's player of the year signs new deal

The Hatters are delighted to announce that last season’s Player of the Year Steve McNulty has penned a new contract with the club which will expire in the summer of 2016.

The 30-year-old defender was an ever-present at the heart of the Town defence last season and scored one goal, against Southport, which was voted goal of the season by Luton Town Supporters’ Club.

McNulty arrived at Kenilworth Road in January 2013 from Fleetwood Town and has since gone on to make 68 appearances for the Hatters.

Manager John Still told lutontown.co.uk: “Steve has been a tremendous asset for this football club since I have been here, both on and off the field.

“His performances last season at centre-half were colossal and I’m hoping for much more of the same from him next season and beyond.”

McNulty told Hatters Player: “I’ve had a good first year here and all I want to do now is kick on even further.

“I’m at a club that doesn’t want to stand still and the manager has done everything this summer to ensure we’ll give League 2 a really good go. We’re in good shape and there’s much more strength in depth.

“I’m happy to be at Luton. Before I moved here I was considering packing football in altogether, but signing here has been the best thing I’ve ever done.”
