TOWN LEAD CUT TO FOUR

18 January 2014

Cambridge gain a point on the Town at the top

The Hatters' lead at the top of the Skrill Premier was cut to four points on Saturday following Cambridge's 1-1 at FC Halifax.

United had led thanks to Tom Elliott's second half header but the Shaymen came back to earn a point through Lee Gregory's strike.

Cambridge do have two games in hand over the Hatters and are next in action on Tuesday when they travel to Tamworth.

Elsewhere, fellow promotion chasers Grimsby and Gateshead drew 2-2 at Blundell Park with JJ O'Donnell playing 90 minutes for the Tynesiders.
