Midfielder hails Hatters support following injury

Jonathan Smith has been overwhelmed by the amount of support he has received from Hatters fans following his injury on Boxing Day.

The midfielder broke his leg in two places in the 2-1 win at Barnet and has now begun his recovery from the injury.

And Town supporters have responded in their droves to wish the 27-year-old a speedy recovery.

"Just received a stack of get well soon cards," tweeted Smith. "I've read every one and they are all up in my house. I'm very touched by all the support and messages and be sure the recovery is well under way. Once again thank you so much."

The Bobbers Travel Club also raised money to help Smith through his spell on the sidelines by sending the midfielder vouchers to use online to buy DVDs and games.

"Thank you sooooooo much for the cards and vouchers," Smith tweeted to the Bobbers Travel Club's Twitter account. "Me and my family are very touched to read all those comments."

It is hoped that Smith will be able to pay Kenilworth Road a visit in the next few weeks.
