Hatters complete loan signing of promising Norwich youngster

The Town have signed Norwich City’s highly-rated midfielder Cameron McGeehan on loan for a month.

The 18-year-old central midfielder captained the Canaries to FA Youth Cup glory last season, scoring penalties in both legs of the final against Chelsea.

McGeehan arrives at Kenilworth Road on a 28-day youth loan, and is eligible to play for the Hatters this weekend against Wrexham in the Skrill Premier.

The London-born midfielder has been a regular for City’s Under-21s this season and has previously been on the books of Chelsea and Fulham.

Town boss John Still told lutontown.co.uk: “Cameron is all-action, he’s strong, he can play, he can tackle and he gets around the pitch really well.

“He worked with Jeff Wood [goalkeeping coach] at Norwich, and Jeff’s seen first-hand what a prospect this boy is.

“It’s another player we’ve had our eye on – another target that we have identified and brought in. That’s pleasing and having Cameron on board gives us another option in midfield.”

Watch Cameron score against Chelsea in last season's Youth Cup final (2:17) and lift the cup at the end of the tie (4:41), below:
