HEIGHT DOESN'T MATTER - MEADE

New Town loan signing Jernade Meade believes that height should not be an issue and is out to prove a point to anyone who may question the Luton-born youngster.

The 21-year-old joined the Hatters for the rest of the season from Premier League Swansea on Tuesday but arrives at Kenilworth Road having played in the Champions League at left-back last season.

“As a left-back I get doubts because of my height which I think is silly,” Meade told Hatters Player. “I am small but I think I can compete,” said the 5ft 3in left-footer, who John Still also sees as a midfielder.

“I’ve played Champions League football at left-back, which is the highest competition at club level.

“For people to comment on my height gets annoying because I’ve proved that I can play there.

“The back stick crosses might be a bit difficult, but I could probably jump the same height as someone like Ashley Cole.

“They don’t give you the opportunity. How can you prove to someone you can play there without getting the opportunity?”
