Same squad likely for Imps trip
Town boss John Still will pick a team from the same squad of players that was on duty on New Year's Day for Saturday's all-ticket trip to Lincoln. The Hatters players were in on Thursday for a warm-down after the energy-sapping 2-1 win over Barnet in appalling weather and pitch conditions.
The manager has no new fresh injury worries for the weekend game with the Imps.
Alfie Mawson and Joe Davis, on-loan from Brentford and Port Vale respectively, will be in the squad for the final time before their deals expire. However, Still hopes to extend the loans of both defenders after the weekend.
“I’ll look at our injuries, it’s possible that we’re probably going to need a couple of loans here, so possibly we’ll be going that way if their clubs allow it," Still said at his Thursday press call.
“Joe’s come in and not really put a foot wrong. It was tough for him, because we’ve started with Alfie in front of Joe as I just felt that was the way to go.
“But he picked that injury up, it was just really Joe had come in and the team’s been winning.
“I’ve been a bit sorry for Alfie as he’s come in and started, but then picked that injury up and missed a bit.
“The combination between him and Steve McNulty has been okay, better than okay, so I’ve not really changed anything.
“That doesnt mean to say we don’t think Alfie can come in and do a really good job, so that’s something we’ll look at.”
The manager admitted that the game with Lincoln will come too early for the likes of Anthony Charles, Andy Parry, Jon Shaw, Solomon Taiwo and Alex Lacey, who are are all training.
