And your questions answered...

The Kenilworth Road pitch is fully covered ahead of Saturday’s game with Hereford United after groundstaff laid the final pieces onto the turf late on Thursday evening.

The cover is made up of seven sheets and will be used to protect the surface from the predicted heavy rainfall throughout Friday.

With high winds also expected, the covers are being held down by several hundred sandbags to prevent the covers from blowing off and exposing the pitch. The pitch itself is in good condition, having been verti-drained on Thursday.

However, the question on everyone’s lips has been “where will all the rainwater go?” Well we asked head groundsman Richard Bird, who spoke to our official YouTube channel. Click the video below to find out.
