Midfielder up for League 2 award for November

Midfielder Nathan Doyle's fine performances for the Hatters over the past month have seen him nominated for the Sky Bet League 2 Player of the Month award for November.

The midfielder has been a revelation for the Town in the centre of the park since joining in September after his release from Bradford City.

Doyle aims to be the third successive Hatters man to win the monthly gong after Luke Wilkinson (September) and Mark Cullen (October) both lifted the Sky Bet trophy.

He vies for the award with the following:

Tom Nichols (Exeter City) – striker
Five goals in four games as he forced his way off the bench and into a partnership with Graham Cummins. Nichols’ calm looping header for the 91st–minute winner against Shrewsbury Town was a gem.

Aaron O’Connor (Newport County) – striker
Free of the injuries which limited him to four games last season, O’Connor produced the individual performance of the month with a stunning hat-trick in the 3-1 win at high-flying Bury. His cool finishing supplemented a high work-rate.

David Worrall (Southend United) – winger
Three goals and two assists from the all-action wide man whose licence to roam and cut in from the right energised his side to a perfect month. The pick of Worrall’s goals was an individual run and low finish for the winner against Hartlepool United.

The winner will be announced on Friday.

The judging panel comprises Sky Sports’ Football League expert Don Goodman; Football League Head of Communications John Nagle; League Managers’ Association Director Olaf Dixon and Sky Bet Football Trading Manager Paul Lowery.

Sky Bet is the title sponsor of The Football League. This season, a £250,000 Sky Bet Transfer Fund will go to a Football League club to spend on players in the January 2015 transfer window.
