Defender confirmed by the boss as captain

John Still confirmed that last season's player of the year Steve McNulty will captain the Hatters next season.

The 30-year-old, who joined the Town in January 2012 from Fleetwood Town, was an "ideal choice" according to the Hatters manager.

"Macca will be the captain," Still said at his pre-match press conference on Thursday ahead of the Town's first game back in the Football League at Carlisle on Saturday. "He's my choice, an ideal choice.

"He would probably be a lot of other people's choice for the captaincy but that said we have plenty of other candidates. Paul Connolly, Luke Guttridge, Mark Tyler, Paul Benson and Matt Robinson - if though he's a younger one - are all good talkers and organisers."
