ROONEY SUSPENDED, GUTTRIDGE IN CONTENTION

Town boss John Still will be without the suspended Luke Rooney for Saturday’s game with AFC Wimbledon.

The manager was unhappy with the decision after the midfielder’s injury time dismissal against Swindon on Tuesday night.

Rooney was sent-off for a second bookable offence for diving, but the boss later revealed after the game he was told by Swindon players they believed it should have been a penalty.

However, the decision stands and it means the Town are certain to make at least one change for the Dons’ visit in the Hatters’ first home Football League game for five years.

That could be Luke Guttridge, who Still explained is now in a position to start a game, with the midfielder making significant progress in his recuperation from the foot injury that he sustained last season.

However, the Town are still likely to be without the services of Jonathan Smith, Alex Lawless and Shaun Whalley.

Further details, quotes and videos to follow.
