But Wall could return, says Still
John Still has admitted that leading goalscorer Andre Gray is doubtful for the Town's game with Braintree on Saturday. The 27-goal forward was withdrawn during the first half of the Hatters' 2-0 win over Tamworth and Tuesday.
"It's not as bad as we first thought," Still told the gathered media at the Town's training ground on Thursday. "It's not really a hamstring injury, we think it's more of some nerve damage. He'll be back before the season."
Meanwhile striker Alex Wall could return to the Hatters squad after recovering from a knock sustained whilst on loan at Dartford. "He'll make a decision on whether or not we bring him back now," said Still. "He's trained this week and he'll train tomorrow [Friday]."
The manager has also been delighted with the recoveries of both Luke Guttridge and Jonathan Smith, the latter of who was seen kicking a ball before the warm-up on Tuesday.
"It's great to see," said Still. "They are further on in their recuperation that we thought which is great but we're taking it easy with them."
