Trio in contention

Town boss John Still could have Alex Lacey, Alex Lawless and Solomon Taiwo available for selection for Friday's televised trip to Wrexham.

Defender Lacey came off at half-time in the goalless draw with Grimsby last weekend with an ankle injury and the manager admitted he could make a return at the Racecourse.

Still confirmed that Lawless - who has yet to feature at all so far this season - will definitely travel to North Wales having come through 45 minutes for the development side on Wednesday. The midfielder has overcome a niggling groin problem.

Meanwhile Taiwo "impressed hugely" in 90 minutes for development side during the week and is in contention for a return to the squad.

Jon Shaw is making good progress in his recovery from a hernia injury, whilst defender Anthony Charles has had a small set-back as he recovers from a shoulder injury. "He was a bit eager in training and pulled it slightly but it's nothing serious," said Still.

At his press conference, Still said: “Lawless will travel. He played in the devlopment game, played 45 minutes and was very, very good."

“Solly played 90 minutes and was outstanding, so that was good news there.

“We played a very strong Brentford side at Brentford and by and large, most of our team were young ones.

“So that was fantasic, absolutely brilliant. It’s good to see the young ones getting into the way we want.”
