STILL ON DEADLINE DAY

2 September 2013

It's transfer deadline day and John Still admitted after Saturday's fine 2-0 win at Kidderminster that there could be activity today - if the time and type of player is right.

“I have targets, I had targets when I first came and I still have targets," said the boss.

“But I’m not going to sign anybody. If I can’t get my targets, I’m going to wait, as I did with Paul Benson. I’m going to wait and wait and if we have to suffer a little bit we will, but I won’t end up with players that I don’t want.

“I know who I want, the type I want and I know exactly where they are. I’m going to do everything I can to get them and if I’ve got to wait for them I’ll wait for them, but if I get them, they’ll be good.

“I pick the phone up and speak to people regularly, and if the timing’s right then yes, and if the timing isn’t right then okay, we’ll wait.

“What’s important to me is to get the right type that I want, it’s vital for me. I’m going to wait until I get the right type.”
