Another victory for Hatters development squad

Two goals from substitute Zane Banton helped the Town development side to a 3-1 victory over Stevenage on Tuesday afternoon.

Trailing to a goal in the second of three 30-minute periods, Banton scored with his second touch, rifling home an unstoppable effort from 20 yards to equalise on 72 minutes.

Banton was then involved in the Town's second goal eight minutes later. The teenager switched the play from the left to the right to find Alex Wall who teed up Jake Woolley to cross for Jim Stevenson to head past the Stevenage goalkeeper from six yards.

Young forward Banton then scored his second and the Hatters' third goal on 84 minutes, finishing a move he started by neatly volleying home from inside the six-yard box following another right-wing cross from Woolley.

It was no more than a Town side - which included several trialists - deserved in front of first team manager John Still.

Team: Justham (sub Barnes), Trialist, Trialist, Trialist, Hawkes (sub Longden), Robinson, Stevenson, Trialist (sub Banton), O'Donnell, Woolley, Wall (sub Trialist).
