Benson and McNulty in contention for Chester

Town manager John Still is confident that Steve McNulty and Paul Benson will be fit to face Chester on Saturday.

The pair were substituted in the second half of the Hatters' 2-1 win at Braintree on Tuesday having sustained knocks, but Still admitted at his Thursday press conference that the duo could be involved at the Deva Stadium at the weekend.

"Steve and Paul have both had treatment," Still said. "With Steve, the injury's not terrible and I'm confident he'll be okay. Paul hasn't trained today [Thursday] but he's similar to Steve. It was touch and go whether he started at Braintree but he felt he was okay in the end and I think he'll be okay again this weekend."

Striker Alex Wall has also trained, as has defender Anthony Charles - although the manager explained he will only play him if absolutely necessary.

Alex Lawless and Shaun Whalley have also trained fully without complications whilst Jon Shaw remains sidelined with a calf injury.
