Wayne Thomas has been granted International Clearance

Luton Town’s frustrating wait for Wayne Thomas’ international clearance is finally over following the granting of a provisional clearance by the Football Association today.

Wayne put pen to paper on Monday 4th February and international clearance was immediately applied for from the Greek Football Federation (HFF) as he was last registered with Veria FC in Greece.

Usually international clearance is received within a day or two, but on this occasion the HFF did not respond at all forcing Wayne to sit out four matches including the FA Cup tie with Millwall when the Hatters were without the services of three central defenders through suspension and being cup-tied.

Under FIFA regulations, if international clearance is not received within 15 clear days then the Football Association can issue a provisional clearance and this duly arrived today.

Wayne is now available for selection and will no doubt be keen to make his long awaited Hatters’ debut.
