Still believes in development squad success
John Still hopes the Town can get all the way to Wembley in the FA Trophy after a side showing 10 changes knocked out holders Wrexham.
A Mark Cullen header and an own goal from the visitors’ Neil Ashton sent a young Hatters side through into the last 16 of the competition.
“It was a terrific performance and they’ll get another chance in the next round,” confirmed the manager. “It’s a great opportunity for them and I hope we can get all the way to Wembley.
“I said to the players that I would pick a team that I thought would be able to win and the players did that.
“In fairness it could have been more than 2-0 but Wrexham are the holders, and they’re a good side but I’m obviously delighted.
“It was a great performance and I’m expecting to be busy on Monday. I should have people banging on my door wanting to know when they’re getting a chance in the first team.”
