All change here for Dragons visit

Manager John Still will ring the changes once more as the Town return to FA Trophy when they take on current holders Wrexham at Kenilworth Road on Saturday.

A development squad including a number of youth team stars will aim to continue from where they left off after beating Staines in a first round replay last week.

Still hopes to have experienced centre-half Anthony Charles available for the Dragons’ visit but the boss will be without the services of striker Jon Shaw and Alex Lacey and Andy Parry through injury whilst Alfie Mawson is cup-tied.

“Jon Shaw’s a no, Anthony Charles a maybe,” Still said at Thursday’s press call. “We’ll see today and tomorrow with Charlo.”

Lacey has a cut in his foot sustained in the 3-0 win over Southport last month whilst Parry needs an operation on a hernia.

“They’re not going to be around for the next few games,” confirmed Still.

“Parry needs to have an op, we’ll get him in the next few days, so he won’t be available for the Christmas period.

“Lacey maybe the end of the Christmas period as he’s got a cut, but it’s right on the kicking part of your foot.

“He’s had some stitches in it, but he’ll be training probably over this weekend.

“It’s really difficult to do anything as when it’s the side of your foot you can get away it, but he’ll be okay.

“One of the reasons we brought the loans in was to make sure we had enough cover for any problems that arise and the funny thing is, next game things arise, so it worked out all right for us.”
