Boss won't make long trip to Carlisle

Manager John Still will not take charge of the Town at Saturday's game with Gateshead.

As hinted at a press conference several weeks ago, the boss will be scouting for players at another match at the weekend. His assistant Terry Harris will oversee the game against the Tynesiders which will take place at Carlisle United's Brunton Park ground.

Still said: “I’m not going to Carlisle, I won’t be there on Saturday. This is now the time I need to look at one or two players, as does Terry, not both together.

“Either one of us will probably not do the same games together between now and the end of the season.

“We now have to make some decisions on players we’ve been watching and Saturday will be one of them.”

The Hatters have no fresh injury worries for the long trip north. Steve McNulty, who was substituted during Easter Monday's defeat to Kidderminster, has not trained this week but will on Friday. Alex Lawless has returned from a hamstring injury but has now fallen ill. He may train on Friday and is doubtful for Saturday but could return to the side to face Lincoln on Tuesday night.

"We have a couple of bumps and bruises but on the whole we're okay," said Still.
