Town long odds-on to record win on Saturday

It’ll take a rich man to make money backing the Town this weekend following Blue Square’s 4/9 quote that Paul Buckle’s side beat Southport on Saturday.

The Hatters are the shortest price of any team in the Blue Square Bet Premier to earn all three points tomorrow whilst Southport can be backed at 11/2 to record what would be their first ever victory at Kenilworth Road. The draw is a 3/1 chance.

With the Town so short in the market it pays to look elsewhere with league sponsors Blue Square offering a whole host of other markets on the game.

Southport will not like being reminded of their previous two visits to this part of Bedfordshire having been on the end of a 5-1 hammering last season and a 6-0 thrashing in the campaign before that.

Games between the two team invariably throw up goals and you only have to look at last season’s other meeting that saw both sides share six goals at Haig Avenue.

Goals are bound to be on the menu once more but at 4/7 for over 2.5 goals it may best to look at the Town on the handicap market. Blue Square go 5/4 that the Town triumph after giving Southport a goal head-start. That means the Hatters need to win by two clear goals for you to collect your winnings so it’s worth considering backing Buckle’s boys to win by a two-goal margin in the specials market at 7/2.

Given the Town’s recent penchant for giving teams a head-start, the 6/1 about the Hatters falling behind but coming back to win is also one to consider. Southport took the lead in this fixture last season before the Hatters stormed back to win comfortably.
