Under-18s fightback from a goal down to win 3-1

The Town Under-18s came from a goal down against Barton Rovers at Kenilworth Road to progress to first round proper of the FA Youth Cup.

Rovers hit the post in a first half that the Hatters dominated, but a string of fine saves from the visitors' goalkeeper kept the score blank at the break.

Charlie Smith missed a penalty six minutes after the restart and five minutes later Rovers had the lead against the run of play.

But Paul Driver's side were behind for just three minutes when Arel Amu equalised.

As the rain lashed down to make conditions tough for both teams, the Town's Jemale McKenzie-Lowe saw an effort hit the post.

But, as the game edged closer to extra-time, Smith made amends for his earlier miss to put the Hatters ahead for the first time when taking Zane Banton's pass to finish well with just four minutes left.

That gave Barton little time to recover and Amu sealed victory three minutes into stoppage to make it 3-1 and earn the Town a trip to Stevenage in the first round proper.
