Town almost at full strength to face Rovers

Town assistant manager Alan Neilson expects Scott Rendell and Alex Lawless to be fit for Saturday's trip to Forest Green Rovers.

Neilson confirmed that striker Rendell, who missed last Saturday's FA Cup victory at Cambridge, has trained all week, whilst midfielder Lawless, who was stretchered off midway through the first half of that game, should recover to face his old club at the weekend.

"Scott's recovered from a knock and has trained all week and he'll be fine," said Neilson. "At first we thought Alex's injury could be quite serious but it wasn't as bad as we first thought. He's resumed light training and he'll train on Friday. Then we'll see how that goes and decide from there."

The Hatters also have the luxury of welcoming back two players who were unavailable to play in the 2-0 win at the Abbey Stadium a week ago. Simon Ainge and Connor Essam both return to the squad having been cup-tied and ineligible respectively.

However, Neilson admitted that midfielder Danny Spiller suffered a set-back in his recovery from an achilles injury. The summer signing from Gillingham was taken off in Tuesday's development game against his former club . "Danny was hugely disappointed afterwards," said Neilson. "He'll go and see his specialist again. Fingers crossed it's not too bad - we'll just have to wait and see."
