Defender signs on again - and could be here for good
The Town can confirm the extension of defender Simon Ainge’s loan from Gusieley until the end of December – with a view to a permanent move in the January transfer window.
The 24-year-old scored his first goal for the Hatters in Tuesday’s defeat to Braintree and has impressed Hatters manager Paul Buckle in each game since making his debut against Southport a fortnight ago.
“When somebody comes in you’re not going to give everything away straight away,” said the boss at his pre-match press conference on Thursday. “It was a month’s loan, but we always intended on taking the boy.
“We had a look and it was evident straight away that he was everything we were looking for in a centre half.”
