Town Under-18s fightback to beat Hornets
The Hatters' Under-18s fought back from a goal down to win at Youth Alliance leaders Watford on Saturday.Trailing by a goal at half-time, Paul Driver's side responded magnificently and deservedly equalised mid-way through the second half through Zane Banton.
The Town, who were missing captain Jerome Jibodu and Tinashe Chabata, drafted in a number of Under-16 players into the squad including a product of the club's Cedars Project, Kyle Davison.
With time ticking down the Hatters won it five minutes from time when striker Jemale McKenzie-Lowe grabbed the all-important winner.
A delighted Driver told lutontown.co.uk: "It is without doubt our best performance of the season. With and without the ball we were excellent. Watford went into the game top of the league having dropped out the Academy structure and beat us fair and square at Ely Way a few weeks ago.
"It was an excellent all-round performance by a young team which included several Under-16s. Clinical finishing won it but we defended extremely well as a unit.
"We have set the benchmark now and we need to build on it."
