Striker ruled out, boss to decide on Lawless fitness
A thigh injury is set to rule Jon Shaw out of Saturday's meeting with Dartford at Kenilworth Road. The 28-year-old picked up the injury in the warm-up prior to last weekend's 1-1 draw with Nuneaton Town and boss Paul Buckle doesn't expect the striker to feature against the promotion-chasing Darts.
Buckle is set to run the rule over fit-again Alex Lawless, who returned to action from an ankle injury on Tuesday at Hereford.
"Alex is fit but he's still a bit sore," he said. "I'll decide on Friday whether or not to start him. Alex is an important player for us, especially at home."
Centre-back Dean Beckwith is back in training following a groin problem, while goalkeeper Mark Tyler also trained on Thursday.
New loan signing Jonathan Smith is likely to make his home début after impressing Buckle in Tuesday's defeat at Hereford. "Jonathan's an energiser," said the manager. "He's made of the right stuff."
Meanwhile Jake Robinson has completed his loan spell and has returned to parent club Northampton.
"I like Jake a lot," said Buckle. "He's gone back to Northampton and I'll have a discussion with them whether we extend it again or leave it for a while."
