Boss on selection issues for Saturday's cup tie

Town boss Paul Buckle hopes to have Arnaud Mendy and Jon Shaw back in contention for Saturday’s FA Cup second round tie with Dorchester.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference at the University of Bedfordshire on Thursday, Buckle explained he could have midfielder Mendy back after a bang on the leg kept him out of Tuesday night’s FA Trophy draw, also against Dorchester.

Striker Shaw, meanwhile, who has not featured for the Hatters since the 2-1 win at Forest Green on October 27 with a thigh problem, could make a return to the squad against the Magpies.

The boss has selection dilemmas in attack and in attack. With Simon Ainge cup-tied, the back four is likely to change, whilst Stuart Fleetwood’s goal in midweek - having come on as substitute at Dorchester - could force the former Hereford striker into contention.
