BBC star after Eric look-a-likes on Saturday
Wiggle your glasses and give us a smile, sung the Town squad of 1974 in the Barron Knights hit Hatters, Hatters – and that’s precisely what comedienne Miranda Hart will be asking supporters to do tomorrow when she makes a visit to Kenilworth Road.
The actress, who stars in the television television series Miranda, will step foot inside the ground to film a segment of a BBC documentary on her comedy hero Eric Morecambe – and the comic is urging supporters to come to Saturday’s game with Alfreton dressed as the former Town director.
Arguably the Hatters’ most famous son, Eric has a lounge named in his honour at Kenilworth Road and filming of the show will take place here in the lead-up to kick-off before Miranda heads into the stands hunting Eric look-a-likes during the game.
So don those caps and big coats, and those trademark black-rimmed specs (popping the lenses out of 3D film glasses is a good idea) and the chances are that you’ll make an appearance on the programme – and get to meet Miranda too.
