Boss looks ahead to third round date

Paul Buckle believes drawing Wolves in the third round of the FA Cup is “the next best thing” to drawing a Premier League club.

The boss was delighted that the Town will face the Championship and four-time FA Cup winners on the weekend of 5th January at Kenilworth Road.

“It’s really exciting,” Buckle said at Monday’s press conference. “It’s great that we’re at home and it’s going to be a big, big game for the players, staff and the fans. It’ll be a massive test against a team that have come down from the Premier League last season.

“Like every non-league club left in the competition we wanted a Premier League club but in Wolves we’ve got the next best thing.

“They’ve been there and done it but, when it comes around, it’s going to be great. We’ve earned the right to get to this stage and it’ll be a good crowd and, you never know, anything can happen in the FA Cup.

“We’ll prepare and do our homework in the lead up to the tie. The pressure will be on Wolves, I love being the underdog.”
