Town Legends 8-1 Villa Old Stars
Hatters Heroes from the past cruised past Aston Villa Old Stars at Kenilworth Road on Sunday.
Hat-tricks from Liam George and Scott Smith plus goals from John Dreyer and Marvin Johnson capped a fine win against the Villans.
George headed the Town ahead in the ninth minute following Graham Alexander's right-wing cross.
But 20 minutes later Villa levelled it up when Ian King slotted home from 12 yards.
It was 1-1 at the break but the Hatters soon restored their advantage after the restart when George tapped in after Alexander's shot was saved on 47 minutes.
Two minutes later it was 3-1 when Smith found the net before the same player - a youth coach at Kenilworth Road - hit a fine drive across the Villa keeper after taking a pass from Steve Robinson.
On 58 minutes it was 6-1 when George netted his treble as the Town broke on the counter.
Johnson, who was subbed at half-time, re-appeared on the hour an two minutes later he found the target, to herald the biggest cheer of the afternoon to make it seven.
As time ticked down the Town then made it eight three minutes before the end when Alexander picked out Dreyer at the back post.
