Blue Square give Town odds-on quote

The Town maybe a short price to beat AFC Telford on Saturday with league sponsors Blue Square but there is plenty of value to be had in 15 markets available for the game at Kenilworth Road.

The Hatters are a 3/10 chance to record their first home victory of the season, with the Bucks an 8/1 shot to head back to Shropshire with all three points. The Town drew their season opener against Gateshead 2-2 and it’s 7/2 that Paul Buckle’s side have to settle for a share of the spoils once more.

Andy Sinton’s side earned a 1-1 draw at Kenilworth Road last season whilst the Town won 2-0 in the first meeting between the two sides at the Bucks Head. It’s 8/1 about a 1-1 draw and 11/2 for a 2-0 home win.

Buckle has vowed to attack from the off on Saturday as the Hatters go in search of a first home win of the campaign and, with goals on the menu, it may be worth chancing a 3-0 or 4-0 home victory at odds of 15/2 and 12/1 respectively.

The Town are also a tempting 10/11 to win on the handicap, when giving the visitors a one-goal head-start, whilst the 13/8 about a goal being scored in the first 15 minutes is worth considering as the Hatters look to get out of the traps quick.

On the goalscorer front Stuart Fleetwood heads the market as the 3/1 favourite to score the first goal. It usually pays the side with a striker in form and Fleetwood has bagged four goals in the first three games of the campaign.

Fresh from scoring his first senior goal at Hyde last week JJ O’Donnell is an 8/1 chance to score the first goal but Jake Howells looks too big at 18/1 to score first, especially if he is restored to the Town’s midfield.

Recommendations:

Town -1 on the handicap 10/11

Town 3-0 15/2

Stuart Fleetwood first goal 3/1

Jake Howells first goal 18/1 each way
