Town make the trip to the City Ground tomorrow as they take on promotion chasing Nottingham Forest.

The Hatters will be backed by at least 1,500 supporters in the Bridgford Stand – a superb effort for the 12pm kick-off.

Nottingham Forest are unbeaten in their last four league games and currently sit in fifth place with the potential to go third in the table should they pick up three points.

A victory for the Hatters could see them rise to within one point of safety and lift them off the bottom.

On turning the current run of form around: "We have got to start somewhere – everybody will talk about the league and the position and the points, but we have got to control our own destiny, our own future and our own results, it has to start somewhere. The next opportunity is Nottingham Forest on Sunday, live on Sky and we will be ready for it."

On wanting to improve aspects of Kazenga LuaLua's game: "Particularly in front of goal, we had a really good session on Wednesday and his finishing was the best I have seen it. I speak to him a lot about setting his standing leg – sometimes he reaches, sometimes he shoots too early – about showing that composure, that timing, so he sets up correctly.

"When he does, when is setup correctly, he’s got some power. So hopefully he will bring it to the party on Sunday.

"I thought he was our best player on Saturday, he carried the threat. He tired the last 15 minutes, but before that I thought he was very, very good. He has got that natural talent that I look for in players, he is very unpredictable, very difficult to play against and he was playing against a really dogged full-back in Colin, so I was pleased with his performance."

On how the current transfer window is going: "Everybody knows I wanted to get a couple through the door, because I feel like the group needed a real lift in terms of help and energy, it hasn’t happened – it hasn’t been for the want of trying.

"That doesn’t mean to say it’s not going to happen, we’re still trying, it’s challenging, but I prefer to concentrate on the players we have got, because they’re definitely here – Izzy Brown, Martin Cranie, Dan Potts, Danny Hylton, Callum McManaman.

"People that we need fit in order to be as competitive as we can be with what we have got and I don’t waste a lot of time on ifs, buts and maybes, I would rather deal with certainties and I am pleased with their progress."

Who?

Founded in 1865, Nottingham Forest have enjoyed plenty of success in their history. The two-time FA Cup winners (1897-98 and 1958-1959 seasons) won the first division in 1978 and in the following two campaigns, lifted the European Cup consecutively.
