Tom Lockyer signed for the club in the 2020 summer transfer window after leaving Charlton Athletic.
Locks joined the Addicks following their promotion to the Sky Bet Championship in 2019 after spending seven years at Bristol Rovers following his release by Cardiff City at the age of 16.
The centre-half helped Rovers win successive promotions from the National League to League One, where he twice came up against the Hatters as Pirates captain in our 2018/19 title-winning campaign.
Locks made his debut for the Hatters in the Carabao Cup against Reading and was included in the Wales squad for Euro 2020 at the end of his first season with us.
He made a further 33 appearances for the Hatters in the 2021/22 season, scoring his first goal for the club against Bristol City - fierce rivals of his former club, Bristol Rovers.
Our number four was part of the 2022 World Cup squad with Wales, before leading us to the Premier League at the end of that season.
Tom led the Town to promotion to the Premier League in 2022/23, scoring an important goal in the play-off semi-final win over Sunderland. During the Premier League match at Bournemouth in December 2023, Tom suffered a cardiac arrest on the pitch was was resuscitated and later fitted with an implantable cardioverter-defibrillator.
After making a recovery, Locks was unveiled to the Kenilworth Road crowd before the 4-0 win over Brighton and appeared before the replayed game at Bournemouth, where he met and thanked those who had saved his life.
Just prior to a return to action in 2024/25, Tom suffered an ankle injury in training, ruling him out for the remainder of the season. His contract expired at the end of the season but the defender continues his rehabiliation at The Brache.
