Jordan Clark moved south on a free transfer after his contract with League One club Accrington Stanley came to an end after four years at the Wham Stadium in 2020.
The right-sided player began his career at hometown club Barnsley, making six appearances for the Championship club and enjoying loan spells with Chesterfield, Scunthorpe United and Hyde, before moving to Shrewsbury Town in 2014.
He scored twice against the Town at the New Meadow as a Shrews side featuring James Collins won promotion from League Two in his first season.
Clark netted five times in 59 appearances over two years in Shropshire before moving in the summer of 2016 to Stanley, where his goal record was 29 in 191 – including eight in 40 matches before the 2019-20 campaign ended early due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
He scored his first goal for the Hatters in the 1-0 Carabao Cup victory against Reading and went on to score in every competition he played in after that in his maiden campaign for the Hatters - Sky Bet Championship and Emirates FA Cup.
The midfielder impressed with his versatility and played in several positions throughout the season, filling in for injured players and enabling Nathan Jones to utilise different formations.
The versatility continued during the 2021/22 season, and he contributed two goals and three assists in 28 matches.
The following season saw him score the opening goal at Wembley in the play-off final to put the Town in front against Coventry and went onto score in the shootout that saw the Hatters promoted to the Premier League.
After making his first top-flight appearance at Old Trafford against Manchester United in October, Clark played a total of 23 times in the Premier League for the Town, scoring once in the victory over Bournemouth.
