Young forward Joe Taylor signed for Luton from Peterborough United on transfer deadline day in January 2023.
Having been released by Norwich City at 15, the Peterborough-born striker played Non-League football for King's Lynn Town and Wroxham before his hometown club signed him in November 2021 for an undisclosed fee.
He scored once in 19 appearances for Posh, 17 of them from the bench, and after joining the Hatters midway through the 2022/23 season, he made six sub appearances in the remainder of that promotion-winning campaign.
Most famously, he came off the bench in the Championship play-off final at Wembley to net what everyone thought would be the winner late in extra-time, only to see his goal disallowed by VAR, before he slotted home in the penalty shoot-out to help the Hatters reach the Premier League.
He then went on loan to Colchester at the beginning of the 23/24 season, playing 25 matches for the League Two club and scoring 11 goals, finishing as their top scorer of the 23/24 season despite not playing for them in the second half of the season.
Recalled in the January, he stepped up a division by joining Lincoln City, where he also finished top scorer for the League One outfit with ten goals in 19 matches, as well being voted the EFL's Young Player of the Month in March.
