The Hatters confirmed the signing of Hakeem Odoffin in July 2025 after joining as a free agent after leaving Rotherham United.
The 27-year-old, who can play as a centre-half, right-back or defensive midfielder, was the Millers’ captain and won both supporters’ and players’ player of the season awards for 2024/25.
He had spent four seasons with the Yorkshire club since moving south of the border from Hamilton Academical in the summer of 2021.
Barnet-born Hakeem had started out in Tottenham and Reading’s academies before joining his local club on a two-year scholarship at the age of 16.
After making his senior debut in the FA Cup and then League Two for Barnet, the teenager was transferred to Wolves in 2016 and loaned out to National League side Eastleigh before joining Northampton permanently in 2018.
He made 16 appearances for the League Two side before his January 2019 switch to Livi, where he gained Scottish Premiership experience ahead of his move to Hamilton, for whom he made 41 appearances.
His move back to English football brought League One promotion and an EFL Trophy in his first season at Rotherham, leading to 66 appearances over two consecutive campaigns in the Championship.
Last term back in the third tier he played 52 times and scored seven goals before turning down an offer of a new contract to depart the New York Stadium with 16 goals in 140 appearances to his highly respected name.
