Watch | Jordan Clark reflects on Cardiff defeat

Jordan Clark was rightly disappointed following defeat against Cardiff City and insisted he and his team-mates must go ‘back to basics’ if they are to end a run of four matches without a win.

The midfielder was brought back in the starting eleven after coming off the bench in midweek and on a personal note, enjoyed a good afternoon after scoring his first goal of the season.

But as he admitted himself, his goal ‘doesn’t mean anything if you don’t win’ and that is exactly how he felt after the match.

“It is disappointing giving sloppy goals away, we’re addressing it every week and that is the worst part because obviously we’re not learning from it but we have to change, go back to basics, keep clean sheets and work even harder in training, that is all we can do.

Continuing, Clark said: “Teams are having two chances a game and scoring two goals. You can’t keep conceding two goals every game, especially in the Championship. We have start defending a lot better as a team and we need to start winning games.”

“Second half I thought we started alright, great cutback from Elijah and I then thought we were in control for the next 10/15 minutes. It then turned into a basketball game, we had a couple of chances as well so it is disappointing. We have to cut out the mistakes and start defending better and score more goals, which has let us down in the last few weeks."
