Watch | Admiral Muskwe on Boreham Wood win and settling in

Admiral Muskwe said that making the decision to move to Luton Town was ‘simple’, especially after his chat with manager Nathan Jones.

Muskwe made his Hatters debut in the 3-1 victory against Boreham Wood yesterday and was pleased to get up and running with the 2021-22 Sky Bet Championship campaign just a matter of weeks away.

“In the end, quality always shows and you can tell from the goals that we scored that we have the quality. In future games hopefully we can show that quality earlier on in games as well.”

Thanks to the influence of the gaffer, the 22-year-old decided to sign on the dotted line, ending a 13-year stay with Leicester City.

“I think once you have the meeting with Nathan – you are coming. It is pretty much that simple. Once he goes through everything, his plans for you and his plans for the team, how the club wants to progress and as a player, it is everything you want to hear.”

The forward revealed that upon arrival at The Brache, Kal Naismith was quick to discuss the penalty that Muskwe won against the Hatters last season for Wycombe Wanderers, saying: “The first thing Kal said to me when he saw me was ‘good dive for the pen’, he bantered me with that one! It was good striker play from me, I saw him coming, took the contact and I’ll bring that to Luton hopefully, see if I can win some pens for us.”

The Zimbabwe international became the eighth summer addition at Kenilworth Road this summer and like the others, holds strong aspirations for the upcoming campaign.

“I don’t want to say too much too soon but like all clubs, you want to improve on last season so hopefully we can improve on the 12th place finish and see where that takes us, then towards the back end of the season, if we can push on and try be in and around the play-off positions that would be great.”
