A tight first half saw few chances for either side in an even counter against a Dons side who came into the weekend as league leaders.

However it took Alex Lawless’ side just seven minutes into the second half to take the lead when Jamie Odegah headed home Dominic Martin’s cross.

The Town soon doubled their lead when Jack Lorentzen-Jones won the ball high up the pitch and finished well to make it 2-0.

Further chances for the Town came and went but with 15 minutes left it was three when Dylan Stitt fired past the Dons keeper following good work from Odejah down the right.

Stitt then completed the scoring on 82 minutes with the goal of the game, receiving the ball on the left-hand side of the penalty area and whipping the ball into the corner for his second and the Town’s fourth.

A happy Lawless said: “It was a good performance, especially in the second half, from the whole team. It was a battling display but we controlled possession, won our duels and were strong in the final third.

“We were ruthless – that was something we wanted to improve on in recent weeks and after scoring three last week and four this week, we have taken it up a notch.

“In the end we could have scored more goals but the four we scored were all real good ones. Overall it is a performance all the boys can be really satisfied with. We grinded them down and deserved the win.”

Town Under-18s: Hockey, Giwa, Harvey, Martins, Chigozie, Kayibanda, Lorentzen-Jones, Stitt, Odegah, Anderson, Xavier-Jones.
